Juhana Iivonen ja Gipsy Rufina - kaksi
lauluntekijää Helsingistä ja Roomasta tapasivat esiintyessään samana
iltana FolkArtNow festivaaleilla Bremenissä syksyllä 2009. Täällä
sai alkunsa idea yhteiskiertueesta kesällä suomessa. Menestyksekkään
ja hauskan Touring Folks (2010) - kiertueen jälkeen he suuntasivat
Belgiaan lyhyelle kiertueelle, sekä Antwerpeniin tekemään
äänityksiä. Tunnelmallisessa ja upeasaundisessa (entinen hevostalli)
Madam Fortuna tilassa - keskellä Antwerpenin sykkivää etnistä kirjoa
- Rufina ja Iivonen viettivät kolme intensiivistä päivää
tuottaja/äänittäjä Peter Acousticin kanssa. Tuloksena syntyi
intiimitunnelmainen, minimalistinen folklevy, joka julkaistaan
Syyskuussa 2011 Aelice levymerkille.
Ja kuten he laulavat albumin nimikappaleessa " ... touring folk from
the north ... from the south ... till madam fortuna " kaksikko
Rufina & Iivonen tekevät albuminjulkaisukiertueen joka ulottuu
Euroopan halki Rovaniemeltä Roomaan.
Tule siis kuuntelemaan ja jakamaan hieno folk-ilta!
Juhana Iivonen and Gipsy Rufina - two troubadours from Helsinki and
Rome met while performing at the
FolkArtNow festival at Bremen. There get started an idea of doing a
tour together in Finland summertime. After that fun and successful
Touring Folks tour they headed to Belgium to make another tour and
also some recordings in Antwerp. The record were made in old horse
stable (not many horses left:) in intense session of three days with
producer and engineer Peter Acoustic, and it turned out to be an
album.
And as they sing in one of their song " ... touring folk from the
north ... from the south `till madam fortuna...." they will now do a
long tour across the Europe from Lappland to Rome.
So be there or you really are missin` something!
